Roanoke's Only Pop-Up Ladies' Resale
The better an item is prepared the more likely it is to sell. The most important step is to make sure the item stays on the hanger! See the photo below for a quick hack to keep your tops from falling on the floor.
All bottoms must be on clip hangers. A limited number will be available at drop-off.
The better your items are prepared, the better they present to the customers, and the better they sell! So bring your best! Sell only the items you would want to purchase for yourself. Be picky; our customers will be! Items must have a resale value of $4.00 or greater.

Sheets of card stock and regular printer paper. (for all items that will be pinned)
Hangers - any type (Ask friends, neighbors, dry cleaners, stores such as Belk, Old Navy, Wal-Mart, Kohl’s, Etc. Many are willing to give excess hangers away if you ask.)
Safety pins – we recommend #1 size found at JoAnn Fabrics or online at Amazon. Used topin your seller specific tag to your items.
Once you are logged into your Seller account you can begin entering your items by clicking on the “Work with consigned inventory” link. Click “Add Items” and choose mobile or PC version. This will bring you to the item entry screen where you can begin entering your items.
All items must be priced by the seller.
As a general rule, consider the original retail price -- whether you paid the original or not -- and take around 75 % off. This gives you a thinking range. For example, if an item’s original cost was $20, take 75% off and think of pricing the item in the general area of $4.50 to $5. If it is a "boutique" item or a current brand that is highly desirable you can price a little higher. The same is true for items New with Tags.
Use standard white cardstock/paper for tags.
Tags should then be applied to the clothing item using safety pins ONLY. No straight pins or staples please. Tags are to be placed on the upper right side of the clothing when looking at it. This makes for uniform tagging and easily seen when flipping through racks.
Make sure the tag is secured by either putting the pin through horizontally (poking 2 times), or far enough from the edge to withstand light tugging.
Pay attention to where the pin is stuck. Try to avoid delicate fabrics to not create permanent holes in the clothing (if too delicate, it is ok to tag to inside label in the clothing). Adjust the tag as needed in these circumstances.
HANGING IS SO IMPORTANT! All clothing items should be hung so the hanger looks like a question mark when looking at the front of the garment. And remember, the goal is to make sure your item stays on the hanger.
Here are some quick tips:
· THE RUBBER BAND TRICK- Wrap a few rubberbands on the point of each end of the hanger. The rubber will create some grip that prevents the shirt from slipping right off. If you have a lot of wide-neck shirts, this solution probably isn’t ideal, but it can serve as a quick trick to keep that always-slipping shirt off the ground.
· THE CLOTHESPIN TRICK- Buy cheap clothespins from the Dollar Tree. Clip at least one end of the item onto the hanger (we recommend both, if possible)
· USING HANGERS WITH GRIP-Any hanger with built-in grippers is going to be more effective at keeping your shirts in place. Some hangers feature a rubber gripper built into each side of them to minimize slipping. Non-slip hangers are a good option for wide neck shirts or silky materials that can easily slide right off of wire and plastic hangers. Hang everything so that the hanger will look like a question mark (?) when looking at the front of the garment.
· PANTS AND SKIRTS- all pants, skirts and shorts must be hung on clip hangers. Buyers will have the opportunity to try on items and having bottoms on clip hangers will eliminate the need to unpin/pin.
Please only bring your like-new shoes! Washing goes a long way, as well as using a magic eraser on soles. It works wonders on making them look new again!
We ask that you write the SHOE SIZE on the tag and place it inside one shoe (you can cut the barcode out of the tags to make them smaller and tape with clear packaging tape. You may also safety pin or tie a tag to a shoe lace or through the shoe eyelet. Remember the tug test! DO NOT PUT SHOES IN ZIP LOCK BAGS.
Earrings should be placed on card stock/index cards.
Necklaces will be put on display cards at the sale.
Bracelets will be displayed on a table.
